Scales

Scales are indicative of judges, governors or witnesses, and thosewhose opinions are accepted. The scale represents the middleman andthe one who testified to the truth. If a man dreams that he was givena scale, he will be appointed to a position that is not befitting. Scalesused for weighing gold are indicative of a man of high status. If heweighs lumber or stones or iron in one of them, that indicates that heis burdening some prominent people with things that are beyond themand he may force them to give false witness. A man said: I dreamt thatI was weighing gold in a scale that was not balanced properly. ShaykhShihaab-ud-Deen said to him: You are going to entrust some prominentpeople to someone who will not appreciate their status. The caretakerof a mosque said: I dreamt that I was weighing coins in a scale forweighing silver. He said: You replaced the good lamps with bad ones. And he repented from that.
