Nails

They symbolise a person's ability, capability and position _ since he uses his finger-nails to scratch his body.

Fingernails in a dream represent victory over one's enemy. Having long fingernails for someone who needs them for his or her work in a dream means prosperity. Long fingernails in a dream also mean a trend that opposes what is common and practical. Long fingernails in a dream also mean strength, power and protection from one's enemy. Long fingernails in a dream also denote shame. Losing one's fingernails to a sickness in a dream means losing one's wealth, or reaching a dead end. Clipping one's fingernails in a dream means following the common norms, lending money, or collecting gold jewelry. White fingernails in a dream mean understanding, vigilance, or memorizing things. Fighting someone with nails in a dream represents a cunning person. Long and beautiful fingernails in a dream mean money, or business. If the length of one's fingernails reaches near breaking in a dream, it means losing to others what otherwise could remain under one's own control, or it could denote the need to pay alms tax or to distribute charity. Seeing one's fingernails broken or chipped in a dream means loss of money, status or health. If one's fingernails become claws in a dream, it means that he will triumph over his enemy. Nails signify help for a man, and if the nail tips appear in the rightproportions, that signifies soundness of one's religious and worldlyaffairs. If they are long and beautiful, that signifies wealth, beautiful clothing,preparing weapons to fight the enemy, strong arguments against an opponent and wealth which will protect against enemies'evil. If the nails grow so long t hat there is the fear they will break, thisindicates that the dreamer is plotting to do mischief against his master. If the nails are white, this indicates that the dreamer gets angry quickly. Clipping the nails is indicative of paying Zakaat Al-Fitr. A man said: I dreamt that I saw my hand without nails. Shaykh Shihaab-ud-Deen said to him: You offer the obligatory prayers in anincomplete manner. Another man dreamt that and he said: An enemy ofyours will die and it may mean visitors at night. Another man said: I dreamt that I was cutting people's nails. Hesaid: You snatch what is on people's heads. Dyeing the hands with henna, for one for whom that is befitting,such as a woman or child, signifies happiness and showing adornment. But for one for whom it is not befitting, it indicates bad things that aresaid about him. If a woman dreams that her hands are adorned with mud, that isindicative of the ugliness of her hands. If her hands are adorned withgold, she will give her wealth to her husband and will experience joy.

Nails are indicative of a ruler or caliph, or they may signify wealthand power. The same applies to pegs. If a person dreams that he fixed a peg to the wall of a house, he will love a man of high status. If he fixesit to a wall in his own house, he will love a woman. If he dreams thatan old man drove a nail or peg of iron into his back, a king or scholar orworshipper will come forth from his loins (i.e., he will have a son whois like that) and he will be a pillar of stability in the land.
