It symbolises a tyrant ruler or king who is powerful and . well known as a warlord. Acquiring or owning a falcon which obeys his commands means he will acquire assets and estates; he will also wield power by way of his appointment to kingship. Similarly, if it is seen flying horizontally with him on its back, he will enjoy honour, sublimity and power by being promoted to the office of kingship. And if it is seen flying with him vertically towards the heavens, he will die while journeying. . The same is the interpretation if he sees a hawk or any other bird of prey.
A falcon in a dream represents a thief, might, victory over one's enemy, satisfying one's purpose, love to have many children, marriage, slaves, mis tresses, precious stones, health, relief, or it could mean love to travel. A falcon in a dream also means cessation of life, capture, hunting, shackles, imprison ment, ties, etcetera. If it appears well trained, obedient and responsive in the dream, it means walking in the company of an important person who is surrounded with an impressive entourage. If one sees a falcon flying and gathering a flock of falcons in a dream, it means building an army. A falcon in a dream also represents an intelligent man who claims importance and dignity, though he is unjust. If one receives or holds a falcon in a dream, it means that he will bear a son who will become a very important person of his time. If one happens to be a politician, it means that he will gain greater advancements in his life. If the falcon flies away in the dream, it means that one will lose his seat but retain his fame. If one catches few feathers of a falcon in a dream, it means that some power will remain in his hand and serve his interests. Slaughtering a falcon in a dream means the death of a king or a ruler. Eating falcon's meat in a dream means a financial endowment given by a ruler. If one kills a falcon inside his house in a dream, it means that he will capture a thief. Falcons and other birds with talons signify evildoers such as banditsand wrongdoers. If a person dreams that he took possession of one ofthem or dealt with them, he will take possession of the person indicatedor he may be blessed with a child who will have a high position orbenefit him, or he may acquire his characteristics or deal with a personlike that. If he is hurt by any of these birds, such as if it wounds him ortakes out his eye, he will have trouble from the person indicated by thebird. A man dreamt that an eagle pecked out his eye. Shaykh Shihaabud-Deen said to him: You will lose your eye with an arrow. And that iswhat happened. Another man dreamt that a bird came down to some land and drankall the water in its pond. He said to him: Your eye will be put out with ablow from a stone. And that is what happened. Another man dreamt that a spring of black water came up in hishouse and he was distressed by that, then a big bird came and landed atthat spring and drank what was in it. He said: You have someone whohas some yellow or black water covering his eye, and someone willcome and treat his eye and suck out that water, and the problem will besolved. And that is what happened. If the dreamer takes possession of a bird in order to hunt with it andcatches something that is edible, this is indicative that his needs willbe met and he will succeed in his trade or will have plentiful Halaalprovision. If he does not catch anything or he catches something thatcannot be eaten, this indicates that his needs will be met with theopposite of that. If a king dreams that he had a falcon on his hand and it flew awayand all that was left on his hand was a thread or a feather, he will losehis kingdom and will be left with something like the thread or feather. Ifa man dreams that an eagle is following him, a courageous man will getangry with him. If he dreams that he has a sparrow-hawk in his hand,he will try to get a thief put in prison. If a ruler dreams that he has a sparrow-hawk, this indicates that hehas a horse trader who has knowledge of horses.
