The word Sagheer (child or minor) is derived from the word Saghaar (humility) and the word Sabiy (boy) is derived from the wordMuseebah (calamity). If he dreams that he has an extra boy and hedoes not have any one with him who is pregnant, or he dreams thathe carried him or held him in his lap or took on his shape, he will befaced with humiliation. This applies so long as what he saw can becalled a boy, whether he was very small or six years old. Th is is whatI have experienced more than once, but Shaykh Shihaab - ud - Deen saidthat this is only applicable to a boy who is of no use (because he is tooyoung), such as a boy who is four years old or younger, because heneeds help and he is also ignorant, to th e extent that he does not see thedifference between good and bad. He said: As for the child who is fiveyears old or more, he is indicative of benefit and comfort, because he isuseful in doing errands. It appears from his wording that what he meantis if he has one more boy or possesses him as a slave, because he saidelsewhere: If he possesses a child of five years or older, then if he has aneed it will be fulfilled and things will become easy for him. He said: If they become numerous, to the point that it is not usual fora man like him to have so many children, that is indicative of troublesand burdens because he has to spend on them. A man dreamt that a boywas in his lap, screaming. Ibn Sireen said to him: Fear Allah and do notplay the 'oud (a stringed instrument). Another man dreamt that and hesaid: You will open a school or a shop where you will teach boys. Another man dreamt that he possessed a group of naked young boys. Shaykh Shihaab-ud-Deen said: You have to fulfil a vow you made toclothe minors or people in need. Another man dreamt that he possessed a group of young boys. Hesaid: You will become insane and boys will make fun of you. Anotherman dreamt that and he said: You will be tested with love of boys andyou will get into trouble. Another man dreamt that he became a young child. He said: There isthe fear that you may lose your mind or be imprisoned. Another man dreamt that he possessed a group of the sons of Adam. He said: You treat people well. Another man dreamt something similarand said: They became crocodiles. He said: You will be rewarded bythe one you treated well the way crocodiles reward others (i.e., he willbetray you). And it all turned out as he said.
