Chess, Backgammon, and Other Games

He said that playing chess and backgammon is indicative of fightingwith someone else, some doubts about the winner, cessation of worshipand moving from one place to another. If he dreams that heset it up and played the game, that indicates that he will be appointed,because that (playing chess) is what people in that position do. And itwas said that playing backgammon only is indicative of Haraam trade;playing games in general is indicative of fighting for an unlawful causeand that victory will be for the one who wins the game. Playing withbones is indicative of being distracted by falsehood, but it is also saidthat it is a good sign in principle. V.
